1. I smell gas. What should I do?

Leave immediately, leaving the door open for ventilation. Go to a neighbor's and telephone the gas company at 931-645-7422 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or call 931-645-0116 for an emergency and after hours. If the odor is very strong, call 911. Do not turn electrical switches on or off (or use a flashlight or phone) because an electric spark could ignite the gas, causing an explosion.
