Crime Scene Team (CST)
The Crime Scene Team (CST) is comprised of highly trained officers that consist of one supervisor and eight team members. The CST serves in an “on-call” capacity, meaning that all CST members have other departmental job assignments that they perform on a daily basis.
In the event of a homicide, suspicious death and/or suicides, the CST is notified to respond and process the scene using photography, videography and sketching as well as other sophisticated equipment like DSLR cameras with specialty lenses and filters, Alternate Light Sources, sealed container vacuums for discovery of trace evidence, and a fuming chamber for development of latent fingerprints.
It is the Crime Scene Team’s responsibility to process the scene for any available evidence, document it, collect it, and properly preserve it for lab analysis and court proceedings.
