The primary objectives of the Clarksville Police Department are to ensure a high quality of life for our citizens by lowering the crime rate, and promoting safety. This is accomplished through the use of traditional and community policing methods, creative problem solving, and by controlling our physical environment.

This website will provide current, regularly updated information on criminal activity that directly impacts the quality of life in Clarksville. This information can be utilized by concerned citizens to assist them in taking steps to reduce and/or eliminate criminal offenses and to also assist the police department to solve crimes. Information will include statistics relating to incidents of crimes by type and geographic location. Other areas of interest are:

Mission Statement

The mission of the Clarksville Police Department is to maintain a highly professional and efficient work force that is dedicated to providing a safe environment by targeting quality of life issues in our neighborhoods, using community based policing strategies. We will carry out this mission with professionalism, honor, fairness and absolute integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards to maintain public confidence.

CPD Modifies Some safety procedures-full service continues amid updates to protect officers, public

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it necessary for law enforcement to closely evaluate their procedures for conducting business.

The Clarksville Police Department will continue to provide full service law enforcement for the citizens of Clarksville, but will be making some modifications to the way those services are provided for the protection of officers and the public’s safety.

Calls for police service will continue to be processed through the 911 center and routed to officers for action. Those calls for service which involve a violent crime or urgent response (e.g. domestics, assaults, break-ins, etc.) officers will be dispatched to the scene. For those incidents which do not require immediate officer presence, are non-violent in nature, and may require a report, an officer will contact the citizen by phone to assist them. It is fully understood situations are fluid and officer responses will be adjusted as needed to accommodate the need.

The Clarksville Police Department is happy to report that all of our lobbies are now OPEN and ready to serve the public again! They are open Monday – Friday from 8am – 4:30pm.  The lobby at our main headquarters (135 Commerce Street) has an occupancy limit of 6 persons. The lobbies at 1584 Vista Lane and 211 Cunningham Lane are smaller, they have an occupancy limit of 2 persons. With the opening comes a few modifications. 


We are respectfully asking the public:

  • Please wait outside if the occupancy limit has already been met inside of the lobbies.
  • Practice Social distancing as much as possible while in the lobby or waiting outside.
  • If you are feeling sick, please phone in for assistance rather than coming to one of our lobbies in person.
